20 years after the horrible riots in Los Angeles, California that left more 50 dead, over 2000 injured and more than one billion dollars worth of damages, the man in the center of the drama Rodney King gave several interviews as he reflects on the past.
King who was caught on camera being brutally beaten by police officers who were acquainted, told TMZ that despite the horrific events and the unfair trial he feels that America has been good to him.
The Californian who is promoting a new book called “The Riot Within: My Journey From Rebellion to Redemption” shared:
“America’s been good to me after I paid the price and stayed alive through it all… This part of my life is the easy part now.”
King who has had his share of run ins with the law and has often stated that he is facing his demons also talked about the Trayvon Martin/George Zimmerman case that is unfolding in Florida.
“I’m hoping [Trayvon] gets justice for his family because he’s no longer here. So for his family I’m hoping that everything will turn out OK. This is America, and I’m sure it will’.Luckily, I got mine seen on tape”.
The 47 year old who had received $3.8million settlement from the city now makes a living by appearing on reality shows.
